The Opportunity
As an Actuarial Analyst II, you will bring your expertise to apply actuarial methodologies to structured projects. You will also serve as a technical subject matter expert on assigned tasks and collaborate with teams to improve processes.
We offer a flexible work environment with a requirement to be in the office 4 days per week. This role is available in various locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. (Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this role.)
What You'll Do:
Independently apply actuarial methodologies to structured projects, such as building tools to test new methodologies and improving the accuracy of actuarial analysis.
Utilize model results to select new variables and refresh existing ones in a rating algorithm. Analyze multiple methodologies to propose reserve selections and document rationale.
Identify and improve processes using actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques.
Proactively resolve technical issues and escalate when necessary.
Assist others with troubleshooting.
Create instructions and training materials for actuarial tools and processes.
Mentor new team members.
Provide actionable business insights to solve complex problems.
Effectively communicate insights and solutions to a wide audience, including both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
Ensure risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in alignment with risk and compliance policies.
What You Have:
A Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the experience required) may be substituted for a degree.
2 years of experience in actuarial or analytical business roles.
Completion of 3 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams.
Experience using relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques to support decision-making.
Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools, or other analysis software. Familiarity with industry data and methods and an ability to connect technical insights to business challenges.
What Sets You Apart:
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights and solutions to a broad audience.
Experience with personal and/or specialty lines pricing.
Military experience (either through service or as a spouse/domestic partner) is a plus.
Compensation:
The salary for this position ranges from $77,120 to $147,390, depending on experience and location. Additionally, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
