Aviation Mechanic / Flight Line Specialist

• $55/hr
• Shift-based (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
• W2 contract, 1-month project

ROLE IMPACT
This short-term aviation role supports safe, efficient ground operations at the McKinney airport. The Flight Line Specialist will ensure aircraft servicing, fueling, and towing are completed accurately, while providing professional support to pilots and passengers. Success in this position means smooth flight line logistics, adherence to safety protocols, and responsive customer assistance.
KEY DUTIES
• Marshal, park, fuel, tow, and position aircraft to and from hangars
• Greet flight crews and passengers, assist with baggage and light aircraft cleaning
• Unload fuel transport trucks, refuel aircraft, and document fuel distribution
• Perform minor maintenance on fuel trucks and ground equipment
• Monitor ramp activity, perform FOD walks, and conduct fuel quality testing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ year experience in flight line or airport ground operations
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks outdoors in all weather
• Familiarity with Jet A and Avgas fueling processes
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Aircraft tugs, fueling trucks, GPU units, and deicing equipment
• Exposure to jet fumes, high noise levels, and moving aircraft
• Requires frequent standing, lifting, and outdoor activity
• Safety gear must be worn (hearing/eye protection, gloves)
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Prior FBO or military flight line experience
• Experience using differential pressure and fuel testing tools
• Knowledge of FAA safety and fueling regulations
