Position Summary

The Driver will support our operations through timely and efficient local deliveries throughout Southern California. The position will be responsible for transporting equipment and materials between jobsites and our warehouse, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, securely, and in compliance with company and DOT standards. Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA 90221

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 3pm (subject to change depending on project delivery needs)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and complete a daily vehicle inspection report for each vehicle driven and follow up if service or repairs are required.
  • Maintain proper up-to-date permits, registration and accident reporting kit for vehicle being operated at that time (perform pre-trip inspection).
  • Install and display proper signage.
  • Acquire complete knowledge of proper vehicle operation for each vehicle being driven and ensure loads are properly secured.
  • Maintain a daily log reflecting an accurate account of daily activities (time cards and journal). Reference Murray Company requirements.
  • Complete and process an equipment/vehicle move sheet for each Murray Company item tagged with an equipment number. Forward completed move tickets to supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Ensure all necessary safety equipment is properly stored on your vehicle and in working order.
  • Become familiar with all operations relating to the Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, and Facility operations. Assist in organization and performing general housekeeping.
  • Perform general facility maintenance/repair as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform daily maintenance check list for forklift prior to operation.
  • Practice safe operation of all vehicles driven and comply with all traffic regulations.
  • Participation and attendance of the weekly tool box meetings in the designated area.
  • Obtain forklift certification.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Attend and participate in the daily stretch and flex program as per the safety procedures.
  • Participate in the daily pre-task meetings and conformance thereof.
  • Participate in the employee cross training goals.
  • Adhere to all the procedures for the proper usage of the personal protective equipment, both daily and task specific requirements.
  • Maintain a valid California driver’s license (Class A or B) as required by your job description.
  • Become familiar with all the hazardous materials, obtain knowledge of the proper handling, labeling, documentation and storage.
  • Become familiar with all the building/facility lock-up procedures and implement them daily.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class B at minimum.
  • Previous commercial driving experience.

Preferred

  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A.
  • Experience with loading and tying down equipment, ideally for construction.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation

$27.00 - $35.00 per hour
