The
Executive Director provides overall operational leadership in achieving the organization’s mission and directing the day-to-day activities of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity. The ED works in partnership with the Board of Directors to develop strategic plans, annual goals and objectives, and leads the staff and operational components of the organization toward the achievement of these goals. Responsibilities include fundraising, community and media relations, financial management, strategic planning, staff leadership, and serving as a liaison with both the Board of Directors and community partners. Because our success depends on a small, but effective team of staff and volunteers, and engaged and supportive external partners, we are seeking a leader who possesses exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
* 5 years of previous management experience
* Experience with non-profit fund development including grant writing/grant administration, fundraising campaigns, and relationship management with major corporate and individual donors.
* Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications * Non-profit management experience
* Working knowledge of site and permit processes
* Experience working in real estate development, construction project management, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. Learn new technology as implemented.
* Strong financial acumen, including knowledge of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, budgeting preparations, and audits.
* Knowledge of fundraising principles and processes; ability to develop working relationships with potential funding sources.
* Excellent verbal, written communication skills, including the ability to confidently speak in public
* Able to meet deadlines and effectively manage complex projects.
* Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, the public, and key stakeholders.
Salary and BenefitsHonolulu Habitat for Humanity offers a competitive total compensation package including a 401(k), medical, dental, drug and vision insurance, disability coverage and PTO.
Additional information:The position reports directly to the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors and is classified as an exempt, salaried position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Salary range: $85,000-$110,000 annually / Full-time
