FORESTRY TECHNICIAN (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – INLAND EMPIRE DISTRICT / NATURAL RESOURECES / LAKE PERRIS STATE RECREATION AREA

The reporting location for this position is Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Perris, CA. This position will work under the close supervision of Senior Environmental Scientist.   

The Forestry Aide will act as the field lead for the District's Wildfire Resilience Program and will have assignments at all units within the district. The position is responsible for assisting in the development, environmental compliance and implementation of forest health and prescribed burn projects, writing wildfire management plans, management of sensitive and invasive species within the Inland Empire District. Incumbents will act as liaison to fire suppression and other allied agencies. The Inland Empire District covers three counties and a diverse array of vegetation and park types from urban open space to mountain wilderness to desert scrub.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
