We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** ABSMC-Ashby Campus **Position Overview:** - The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing lactation consultation and education for breastfeeding mothers at Alta Bates Medical Center regardless of age, race, religion, ability, and economic or social status. - The Lactation Consultant has excellent assessment and implementation skills to assist the breastfeeding mother attain her individual goals. **Job Description** : **EDUCATION** + Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required. + BSN Preferred **EXPERIENCE** + Minimum of two years of experience in perinatal nursing or perinatal education Preferred. Minimum two years of experience counseling breastfeeding women Preferred. + Experience supporting breastfeeding in NICU preferred **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE** + RN-Registered Nurse of California Required + BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Required + IBCLC-International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Required **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE** + Excellent communication skills + Excellent maternal/infant assessment skills + Ability to effectively prioritize work responsibilities + Excellent documentation skills + Effective teaching skills + Flexibility in a changing environment **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Part Time **Shift Hours:** 8 **Days of the Week:** Variable **Weekend Requirements:** Every other Weekend **Benefits:** Yes **Unions:** No **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 28 **Employee Status:** Regular Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.
