Responsibilities:
- Perform additional bookkeeping, administrative, and accounting procedures as required
- Make sure every hotel guest has a pleasant stay
- Respond to inquiries, process reservations and check-ins, delegate housekeeping, security, and service requests, resolve guest complaints, and other front office duties as required
- Reconcile all credit card transactions, financial records, occupancy percentages, room charges, final bill preparation, and cash drawer activity after a thorough audit process
- Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports to general manager, department heads, and hotel management
- Work closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinating requests for maintenance and repair work
- Accommodates special requests of guests whenever possible
- Assist in preregistration, blocking of rooms for reservations, thoroughly understanding and adhering to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures
- Perform financial-related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, raising paid outs, currency exchange, and using suggestive selling techniques to offer guests assistance in making superior choices
- Be able to work on your feet for a typical shift for 8 hours at a time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Front desk clerk duties, guest services, night auditor or previous hospitality experience is preferred but not required
- Must be computer proficient; experience with accounting or reservation software is a bonus
- Some college is preferred but a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Overnight shift; requires flexible hours
- Outstanding communication skills and excellent customer service skills are required
- Familiarity with hotel front desk, hospitality, administrative, or night audit experience is preferred but not required
- OnQ property system knowledge is a plus, but not required
- Flexible schedule; must be available Friday and Saturday nights (11 PM - 7 AM) as well as 2-3 additional nights per week
- Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours during a typical shift
