Position Overview:

Geisinger Medical Center Janet Weis Childrens Hospital is seeking an accomplished and visionary physician leader to serve as Division Director of Pediatric Neurology within the Department of Pediatrics. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a nationally recognized division committed to excellence in clinical care education and research which consists of 10 physician providers and 3 advanced practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Pediatric Neurology Division.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that promotes innovation excellence and professional development.
- Lead recruitment retention and mentorship of faculty and staff.

Clinical Excellence

- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Oversee subspecialty programs including epilepsy headache neuromuscular disorders neurodevelopmental disabilities and sleep.
- Expand access to care through outreach telemedicine and partnerships.

Education & Training

- Direct educational programs for medical students and residents in our Child Neurology Residency Program.
- Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional standards.
- Promote faculty engagement in teaching and mentorship.

Research & Scholarship

- Support and grow research initiatives.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and funding opportunities.
- Promote scholarly productivity and national visibility of the division.

Administration

- Manage division operations including budgeting staffing and resource allocation.
- Represent the division in departmental and institutional leadership forums.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Position Details:

Qualifications:

- MD DO or equivalent medical degree.
- Board certification in Pediatric Neurology.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Academic credentials commensurate with appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level.

Preferred Attributes:

- Minimum of five years of clinical and/or leadership experience in an academic medical center

- Demonstrated success in program development faculty mentorship and strategic planning.
- Strong record of scholarly achievement.
- Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in clinical care education and research.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)
